CBN’s POLICY ON CASHLESS ECONOMY & CONTRAVENTION FINES FOR CUSTOMERS

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has introduced a Cash limit policy which is to enhance the Nigerian Payment system, reduce the use of cash in payments for goods/services and improve the use of Electronic Payment Systems. This Cash Limit Policy will officially kick off on June 1 2012 nationwide but will first become operational in major cities of Lagos State, FCT, Port Harcourt, Kano and Aba. Also note that the pilot run will commence in Lagos as from January 01, 2012.

Using the CBN’s Policy and contravention fines, and using N300, 000 for Individual Customers and N2, 000,000 for Corporate Customers as an example, the applicable Penalty charges would be as follows:

Individual Customers daily Cash Lodgement/Withdrawal limit = N150, 000.	Default excess sample = N300,000	Penalty charge on excess sum of N150, 000 is N15, 000 @ N100 perN1, 000.
Corporate Customers daily Cash Lodgement/Withdrawal limit = N1, 000,000.	Default excess sample = N2, 000,000	Penalty charge on excess sum of N1,000,000 is N200,000 @ N200 per N1,000

Enterprise Bank Ltd, has taken a critical look at this policy and how it affects the high cost of doing transactions by our esteemed Customers (both withdrawal and deposits) and proffers solutions to these limitations which might hinder business transactions if not checked:

CBN DIRECTIVES FOR CUSTOMERS	CONTRAVENTION FINES	e-Payment Option/Solution
Effective June 1 2012, daily cumulative free cash withdrawals and lodgements by individual must not exceed a maximum limit of N150, 000.	CBN has imposed a penalty of N100 per N1000 on all individual cash transactions in excess of the limit. (10% penalty charge on the excess)	Transactions should be done using: POS Terminals (Debit & Credit cards) e-Mobile Banking ATM (debit & credit cards) Online Payment
Effective June 1, 2012, daily cumulative free cash withdrawals and lodgements by corporate customers must not exceed a maximum ceiling of N1 million.	Corporate customers that go contrary to the new policy are to pay a fee of N200 per N1000 withdrawn above the stipulated cumulative limit. (20% penalty charge on the excess)	Transactions should be received using: POS Terminals Internet & Mobile Banking Funds Transfer Bank Switch Pay-Outlet
Third party cheques by individual customers in excess of the N150, 000 limit would no longer be cashed over the counter, as the value for such cheques will be required to go through the clearing house.	If customer insists on cash transaction, commensurate charges will be applied.	Fund transfers using: Internet Banking Mobile Banking Bank Switch Pay-Outlet Other Electronic Other Electronic
All Cash-in-transit (CIT) lodgement services rendered to merchant-customers will stop effective June 1, 2012. HOW TO DOWNLOAD YOUTUBE VIDEOS IN JUST 2 MINUTES!

I was trying to download some YouTube Videos and some other videos I found useful but don’t really know how to do that. I went to google it but it brought out a lot and lots of infos that it took me the whole day reading and reading. But finally I got it! So relax and share with me.

You can’t be online all the time, there is a lot of great content that you might want to download and watch offline. The easiest and quickest method is as follows:

- Download Realplayer and safe it on your PC

- Open the YouTube Video you wish to download

- Click on play and while the video is playing

- Place your mouse on the video, you will see a pop-up on top of the Youtube

- Click on the download pop-up

You are done!

While surfing the net on how to attract more visitors to your site or post, I stumbled on this post by WordPress.com so I decided to share it with you because it will be of great help to you.

Tell people in your online social networks about your new post.

Make your content visible to search engines

If you want your post to be indexed by search engines such as Google and Bing, you should set your blog privacy settings to make your blog visible to all search engines. Pay for traffic to your site

What is Adsense?

AdSense is a wonderful advertising concept that was conceived by Google some time back. Though new advertising concepts keep coming up all the time, this one is something that is altogether different.

Now that we’ve covered those aspects of adsense, let’s turn to some of the other factors that need to be considered.

AdSense (Google’s advertising program) presents an earning opportunity to the website owners by allowing Google to post advertisements on their websites. These advertisements are either text advertisements or image based advertisements. Of course, the website owners need to enroll to the AdSense program through Google’s website (https://www.google.com/AdSense).

Google AdSense program requires you (the website owner) to include a piece of code (a programming script) on your website. You can add this piece of code anywhere in the html code of your website i.e. depending on where you want to position the advertisements (however, there are certain rules that you must follow while pasting this scripting code).

This piece of code is what determines the structure of advertisements and their content (and this is what helps Google in floating the advertisements on your website). When people visit your website they are able to see these advertisements. Your earnings are based on how many Google Ads are displayed on your website and also based on how many times visitors to your website actually click on one of those Ads. The Google AdSense system calculates your revenue on per-click (CPC) and per-thousand-Ads-displayed (CPM) basis. The latter is also known as impressions.

For people who want to advertise their products and services through the Google AdSense system, it’s just a matter of signing up through Google Adwords program and letting Google know how much they want to spend towards advertising through Google AdSense. These businesses can specify the limit and Google AdSense system will accordingly serve their Ads so as to ensure that the specified limit is not crossed. Google AdSense increases the visibility of their business/ services and also increases traffic to their website; hence fulfilling their purpose of advertising.

How to Send Updates to Fans of your Facebook Fan Page

If you an admin of a Facebook Fan Page, you can easily send updates to your fans. These updates are delivered to the inbox of your fans. In this short tutorial, I am sharing with you how I send updates to fans of my facebook fan pages.

STEPS

1. Login to Facebook.com and go to your Facebook Fan Page.

2. Once you are on your Facebook Page, you will see “EDIT PAGE” by the top, right-hand corner of your facebook page. Click on it.

3. Thereafter, you should see a page showing different settings you can edit. Click on “Marketing“.
4. Click on “Send an Update” . Then, you will see a page where you can compose your message. Enter a subject for your message, enter your message in the “message” field and click Send.

Reasons Students Should Not be friends with their Teachers on Facebook

People are becoming Facebook friends with old classmates, long lost cousins and the neighbours across the street. Teens especially seem to have a tendency to add almost everyone to their friends list that asks. So, if one of their teachers should send them a friend request, they’re likely to accept it. If they randomly came across a teacher’s profile on Facebook, they might also send a friend request too, without thinking much about it. A teacher, however, should give the situation some consideration.

There are some very good reasons why a teacher should NOT be Facebook friends with their students.

Privacy – The teacher’s privacy and the student’s privacy are compromised when they become Facebook friends. A student (and that student’s friends) may learn things about their teacher that they otherwise wouldn’t have access to. This could be detrimental in the class setting.

Harassment – Again, this can go both ways. If the relationship between the teacher and the student is not a positive one, or deteriorates in the classroom, Facebook connections could be used to harass one another outside the confines of the school building.

Favoritism – Since teachers have many different students each day, if they were Facebook friends with some of their students and not others, they would likely be accused of showing favoritism to those students they had befriended on Facebook.

Intimidation – Some students might see a teacher’s Facebook friendship intimidating. They may be hesitant to accept the friendship because of not wanting their teacher to be privy to their conversations with friends. At the same time, they may fear saying no to a friend request from a teacher, for fear that they will offend the teacher and negatively affect the teacher’s treatment of them.

Age appropriate – Since a teacher would be an adult, there may be postings from friends on their Facebook page, which would not be age appropriate content for their students to be reading or viewing..

Prejudice – As much as teachers try not to allow outside knowledge affect their treatment of their students, it still can have a subliminal effect. A Facebook friendship may cause a teacher to see the student in a whole different light than they did in the classroom previously.

Misunderstandings – Online communications are often filled with misunderstandings about what a person meant by something they typed or did online. A teacher/student friendship on Facebook could create more opportunities for these types of misunderstandings.

Expectations – A student who has a teacher as a Facebook friend may expect special treatment from that teacher. The student may also expect the teacher to answer questions regarding assignments and homework via their Facebook friendship, that should be reserved for the classroom.

If you’re a teacher and haven’t given this situation any thought, now is the time to do so. The easiest solution is to simply make it a matter of personal policy to not be Facebook friends with any student at your school. That way, no one can be offended by your rejecting their friend request, and you can’t be put in a position that you may later regret.

Error Facebook: How to bypass the error and login to read your messages

Right from the day Facebook Introduced the “Facebook App for Every Phone“, I have been noticing the “Error | Facebook” message while trying to access Facebook Mobile ( m.facebook.com) via my Nokia browser and Mozilla firefox. This really made it very hard for me to reply loads of my Facebook messages, not until I discovered a solution, which I decided to share with you today.

So, what is the way out?

1. Instead of going to m.facebook.com on your phone or Internet browser, just go to m.facebook.com/messages Enter your Facebook Login details and you will instantly have access to your Facebook messages. From your inbox, you can follow the links to view your profile, comment on posts etc but if you click on the “Home” link, you might see the “Error” message again, hence, don’t bother clicking on the “Home” link.

2. Try and access Facebook.com with your Opera Mini or Bolt Lite Browser and you should be able to access your Facebook Messages.

I hope this simple tricks works….also hoping Facebook will fix this bug asap.
